Annie Furr
If someone would have handed me a pencil at birth, I'm sure I would have started doodling. Ever since I can remember, when asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?", the answer was always, "AN ARTIST!". But after graduating college with an animation degree, I felt so discouraged that animation didn't seem like the right direction for me. It took me many years of freelancing, having babies, teaching drawing, and taking portrait work to realize that what I truly loved was telling stories with my art. Digital animation was not so far off; I just needed a different format! With God's direction, I've spent the subsequent years fully invested in children's book illustration and picture book making, and I've never been happier! Today I stay busy homeschooling my three kids, teaching high school art and Spanish, serving the teens at my church, making pictures, writing stories, and singing really loud through it all.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
